We're very pleased to report that at the 2012 Billboard Latin Music Awards, which took place last night in Miami, Shakira was the winner in 4 categories: Female Songs Artist of the Year, Female Albums Artist of the Year, Solo Latin Pop Songs Artist of the Year, and Social Network Artist of the Year.

Shakira, who is currently working on her latest album and enjoying a high point in her career said on Twitter: "Thanks to all my people for all the support with the Latin Billboards".

The Latin Billboard Music Awards, now in their 23rd year, honor the talent of the best artists out of Latin America, based on sales, radio, and social network activity, which comprise the weekly lists in Billboard Magazine, one of the premiere publications in the music industry. Since 1996 Shakira has won an incredible 29 Latin Billboard awards.

We're pleased to report that Shakira has been nominated for two Billboard Music Awards - Top Social Artist and Top Latin Artist. The Awards will take place at Las Vegas' MGM Grand and be broadcast live on Sunday May 20, 8/7c on ABC. For a full list of the nominations click here.
